The material of safety helmet

There are variety of safety helmets, the common materials are :ABS, HDPE, PC, FRP etc.
In addition, the main materials of hat band are : LDPE, PA, etc.

1 ABS : Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin
Feature: With heat resistance, surface hardness, size stability, chemical resistance, and other functions. In addition, electric insulation performance is good, has less impect on temperature and humidity, without impact on water, inorganic salt, acid and alkali (chemical stability).

2 HDPE:  High density polyethylene
Feature: With high surface hardness, good heat resistance, electrical insulation and dimensional stability, HDPE is widely used in production of safety helmet. But the compressive strength of HDPE is poor, if the cap casing internal structure and the design of thickness is not improved, the lateral pressure test will be unqualified, so brim must strengthen the design of lateral pressure, or it is hard to meet the standard in Europe, Australia, Japan and China.

3 PC: Poly Carbonate
Feature: PC has the property of solid and resilient, high impact, high dimensional stability, good electrical insulation and high temperature resistant. Because of the expensive material, in addition to Japan, other countries rarely use this material. Because there are some special material of PC, its temperature resistant performance is good, a lot of metal smelting industry demand PC helmet.

4 FRP: Fiber Reinforce Plastic
Feature: With high fiber strength, heat resistance and good electrical insulation performance as well as the excellent acid resistance and water resistance, flame retardant, small deformation characteristics, widely used around the world.

5 Other safety helmet (mainly produced in China)
1)Tape safety helmet: Made by rubber and canvas
2)Cold-proof safety helmet: Made by plastic and cashmere or plush, used in winter.
3)Bamboo weaving safety helmet: Made by bamboo
4)Rattan safety helmet: Made by rattan or wicker, with poor flame resistance
